Regardless of why clients choose VMT, it is not unusual for many to have a felt sense that there is more to their lives that they’d like to explore and, through practicing Voice/Movement Therapy, discover that which has been eluding them. 

VMT was first developed in the 1990’s by Paul Newham in the UK. Through combining physically liberating movements, art creation, writing, and sound making he developed a uniquely holistic approach to vocal exploration. There are a host VMT practitioners across the United States and around the world.

The Voice/Movement Therapy Institute in St. Paul, MN was founded in 2000 by Carolyn Campfield . Since that time the Institute has sponsored workshops and practitioner trainings. Carolyn has an ongoing private practice based out of both St. Paul, MN and Prescott, WI.
